The testing is based on the principles of prEN 12400 and incorporates elements from a number of British and European Standards
• DD171: 1987,
• PAS 22 and PAS 23: 1999,
• EN 1191,
• EN 1192 and
• prEN 12400:2002,
• BS 8214 (2008) and
• BS EN 1634-1 (2008))
It also uses the most demanding elements of a wide range of performance characteristics, including:
• Vertical load.
• Static torsion.
• Soft, heavy and hard body impact.
• Corner / point impact.
• Slamming (shut/open).
• Closure against obstruction.
• Resistance to jarring and vibration.
• Resistance to abusive force on handles.
Both operating forces and cycling testing is carried out (500,000 opening and closing cycles).
