Audiospec Tests
The new TDSL Audiospec range of doorsets is suitable for most internal door openings and applications. Audiospec achieves sound reductions of between 28dB through to 44dB (Weighted Airborne Sound Reduction Index). In addition, an exceptionally comprehensive range of evidence on acoustic performance has been gained through a series of tests to BS ISO 140 Part 3 1995 undertaken at the UKAS accredited laboratory of The Building Test Centre. These tests were carried out on full sized and fully operational doorsets and have provided test evidence on a wide variety of door designs and configurations.
The tests were carried out on Timbmet Viscount, Timbmet Blankfort 30, Timbmet Blank fort 60, Fire spec 90 and Fire spec 120 constructions as well as an entirely new and novel design called 'Audiospec 44', which not only provides up to 44dB of sound reduction but also in excess of 30 minutes fire resistance to BS 476 Part 22 1987. In all door designs, single leaf, double leaf and glazed assemblies have been tested.
All door designs have also been tested with realistically sized glazing apertures and various glasses appropriate to the fire resistance of each door design.
Selected Audiospec options have also been tested for mechanical performance to DD171 and achieved a severe duty rating.
