TDSL Design Completed Projects Design Considerations
Healthcare environments create very specific and often particularly harsh conditions for door installations and perform many vital functions that contribute towards the successful utilisation of the building.

High levels of foot traffic, the consequence of buffeting trolleys, particular attention to hygiene, needs of a special nature (x-ray, materials and personal protection, acoustics and privacy) as well as aesthetics all contribute to the specification of the doorset.

TDSL's unique business model is a reflection of the need for a single, co-ordinated Fire door, doorsets and hardware supply source. It offers individually managed solutions through a truly seamless approach.

TDSL has always considered innovation and product development as a priority. This is made evident in the way we have pioneered independent, third party certified fire testing of our products and services in order to satisfy, and often surpass, the current demands of fire ratings and performance.

We can also present specific evidence of:
- Service life and durability performance
- Compatibility and compliance
- Environmental chain of custody certification

   - Htm o5 fire safety.
   - NHSE (2004) 06: Automatic door release mechanisms - Hold open devices.
   - HTM 07 environment and sustainability.

6. Design Considerations - Detail - Attaining and Resolving Standards

Design Considerations - Detail - Attaining and Resolving Standards:

Note:

There are conflicts between some of these documents, (many clarified by HTM58:2005 – Internal Doorsets (latest issue). Our proposals highlight any potential conflicts and our proposed solutions Eg:

Ideal requirement. Occasionally severe usage (of doors) quoted in HTM 58 ' The high performance standards required of door leaves, frames and ironmongery in health buildings can best be met when these components are accurately fitted and matched in a factory and delivered to site as a complete unit. '

Site requirement. Door frames need to be fitted at an early stage to allow vinyl floors to be interfaced fully up to architraves. Doors delivered to site too early are highly susceptible to damage, affecting both performance and aesthetics.

TDSL Solution
• Offers flexibility to assist with this issue by :-
• Manufacturing frames and doors accurately in advance using our modern factory facility
• Having the option to then   -  deliver complete doorsets or
   - Only deliver frames to site ( pre-machined out for ironmongery).
Referenced and traceable profile doors are made to exact dimensions and will be sent to site to allow accurate early installation of the frames and to then allow a later installation of the door to provide the engineered values of a doorset whilst mitigating the risk of damage and the need for on site storage.
TDSL can install and maintain the doorset for ongoing reliability and performance.
